Villa Monastero, a fairy-tale location for weddings and civil unions

On December17th 2019 the Council of Province of Lecco approved the new fares for the use of the Botanical Garden and inside rooms of Villa Monastero to celebrate civil marriages and unions.

Our fare to celebrate a civil wedding or a symbolic ceremony is 1500€ (1000€ if at least one in the couple is a resident in Province of Lecco).

Since 2017, with the creation of a dedicated office inside its complex, Villa Monastero has been giving the opportunity to organise civil ceremonies in the Garden or in an inside room of the Villa.

Over the last few years, thanks to its wonderful position with a breathtaking view over Lake Como and the surrounding mountains and the beauty and exclusivity of its inside environment, Villa Monastero has attracted more and more couples from all over the world, who choose it as their " fairy-tale wedding location ”.

These are the increasing figures on weddings and civil unions celebrated in Villa Monastero: 9 in 201724 in 201819 in 2019.

Our first civil wedding was celebrated on July 4th 2017: a young Australian couple from Canberra chose the balcony with a view on the lake in front of the main entrance as the location of their dreams.

For 2020 we have 9 ceremonies already confirmed, mostly in the months of April, May, June and September, both civil and symbolic celebrations. requests came mostly form foreign couples from different countries (England, Germany, USA, Finland, Australia).

We have already received two official requests for 2021, as well as many requests of information.

The Celebration of weddings and civil ceremonies does not  limitate the access to visitors: Villa Monastero maintains its original role as an internationally renowned Congress Centre, the House Museum, the Botanical Garden are open to the public and some inside rooms are equipped to host temporary exhibitions.
