The feminine side of The Great American Songbook

On Saturday 21st of July at 9 p.m. at Sala Fermi Hall of Villa Monastero, Hanna Fridriks Trio will have a concert embracing beloved works from the Great American Songbook by Richard Rodgers, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Jimmy McHugh and others, with a special tribute to the refined lyrics of Dorothy Fields who was the only woman to achieve wide acclaim as a songwriter during the “golden age” of popular song in the first half of the 20th century and was the first woman to be elected into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. Her best-known pieces include “The Way You Look Tonight”, “On The Sunny Side Of The Street”, “I’m in the Mood for Love” and “Pick Yourself Up”. The ensemble is composed of Hanna Fridriksdottir, voice, Alfredo Ferrario, clarinet, and Maurizio Aliffi, guitar.

United by the passion for Swing, the trio will take you on a “voyage”  through the “Belle Époque” of American songs of the 1930s and 1940s.

During the concert an additional homage is made to the eternal elegance of Lake Como through images and brief anectodes, whose beauty, history and magical atmpospheres continue to enhance, inspire and ennoble the soul.

Entrance to concert including one flûte of sparkling wine: 8 euro

The botanical garden of the villa will be open from 8 p.m. free of charge for concert guests and the bar service available before the concert.
